Frequently Asked Question

Nothing is printing!
Last Updated 2 years ago

And by nothing, that means absolutely nothing. If a machine can print receipts but not labels, or vice versa please check the KB articles for the specific printer first.

1) Verify that print node is started
The print node icon is located in the bottom right of the task bar next to the clock and looks like (A) you may have to click the arrow (B) for it to appear. Hovering over it should give a popup that says "PrintNode - Connected"

If PrintNode does not appear it can be found by opening up the Start menu and typing "node". Once it launches retry your print.

If PrintNode says anything other than "Connected" please start a support ticket for further investigation

2) Power cycle the affected printer

If PrintNode was running, try power cycling the affected receipt / label printer then retry your print

3) Re-attach the USB cable for the printer.

Power off the printer and disconnect and reconnect the USB cable at the back of the printer and at the sales terminal DO NOT PLUG THE PRINTER INTO A DIFFERENT USB PORT WITHOUT DIRECTION OF I.T.

4) Shut down the workstation

If power cycling the printer itself did not help, Shut Down the workstation, leave it for 30 seconds then power it back on. Do Not Restart. Changes in Windows 10 and 11 have caused a restart / reboot to not actually reinitialize attached hardware.

5) Verify Windows sees the printer

Open the Start Menu and type "Printer" then click "Printers and Scanners"

Your receipt printer should show up as {StoreName}R# (e.g. CenterLineR1) label printers will show up as {StoreName}L# (e.g. CenterLineL1)

If the printer does not show in the list please start a support ticket for further investigation
